Yup, you can't go wrong with The Class Assassins. If you aren't familiar with them, here's a few reviews of their classic first CD...can't wait for the second one! "Honest and stripped down quality street punk n' roll from this Toronto outfit that boasts veterans from notables Vacant Lot and The Problem Children, among others. Big, catchy Oi!-flavored sing-alongs rule the day. Reminds me of the Hudson Falcons after 6-months of court-ordered anger management therapy... a bit less speedy and confrontational than their American brethren. Still punchy enough to satisfy my affinity for hot licks and workman-like energy. Vocalist Chad Nugent (hopefully no relation to the Motor-City jackass), has the coolest set of pipes this side of Al Barr... the guy can actually sing with a great melodic huskiness. And the backing vocals are similarly solid. Besides having a rhythm precision, guitarists Chris and Dan Farr boast the coolest surnames in the business..."Urban Rebel" is an anthem worthy of some rebel rousing. If the Hudson Falcons are the working week, The Class Assassins are the weekend. This one just keeps getting better and better." "Solid mid-empo melodic singalong punk rock from these Canadian geezers. Reminiscent of THE GC5, VIGILIANTES, THE REDUCERS SF, etc. and to some degree THE EXPLOSION. Lots of group backing chants, harmonies and tough riffs, this is well above average for this crowded genre. Lyrics are socially aware and political without sloganeering, this is great catchy punk. TKO Records is looking after the US side of the release, so you're assured quality and perhaps a tour in the works(?). " "After the opening licks of this CD I had to check to make sure I was listening to the right one. Holy shit this is great! Coming at you from Toronto, the Class Assassins includes members of such seminal Canadian punk bands as Chronic Submission, Vacant Lot, Direct Action, The Problem Children and Hockey Teeth. Fusing together the sounds of punk and street rock while adding the catchiness of sing-along anthems, The Class Assassins grab you right by the balls and command your attention."

I was near Class Assassins-obsessed when "State of Emergency" came out- glad to hear there's CD in the works! You should include your cover of "Clampdown" on it- never really thought of it as a particularily strong Clash song but your version blew me away!
Cheers!

**Yup.....I'm a ridiculously huge Clash fan but for some reason that song never really did it for me...at the same time, I've even been known to put on the ever-hated Cut the Crap record so go figure?!?! "
Psyched to the max to hear the new Class Assassins!!!

Bumped into a skin whilst out of the country down here in Orlando, Florida last night (down at one of the clubs). When he found out I was from Canada he promptly showed me his Class Assassins shirt he was sporting... crazy about the band. A bunch are coming up for the Oppressed gig - very happy to hear the band is also included in the line-up.

The 28th Bovine show will be our last gig till the oppressed. The misses and I are about to have a baby, and I can't justify taking off to play while she is learning how to be a mommy.

Despite popular belief, the class ass are still together... Gary (drums) has just undergone ear surgery to correct a hearing loss in one ear. As far as I can tell the boiz are itchin to get back and do some live shows. Chad and I are working on a third tune for the next 3 song ep...we'll have a full length out in early 2006. Our next booked gig I believe is Oct 29th with the G-Men (halloween partay) We are turning 5 in November so that calls for a bash...... We are also in the process of getting something a little sooner than these dates. Cheerz

well, as you can see sometimes shit doesn't turn out like you have planned. We are having more fun than ever playing as of lately. We do have enough material for a double disc or two full lengths, and I just keep getting these melodies in my head that I want to work out with the boiz. I am currently editing the shit portions (squeaks etc) from our live recorded show (Aug 26 2006)and I'd love to put this out as a live album as well. Because of three of us having new kids it is very hard to be playing shows on a regular basis, however, you will see us in the future cause this is what it is for are both the shows and recording. cheerz ya bastards chris

We're game - let's do it! You know we're always behind you guys 100%
Touring isn't the most necessary thing in the world. We've got a few surprises and some big events lined up for the spring/summer of next year, so the timing would definitely work out for you. We'll talk.....
