What a weekend!
Big thanks goes out to those involved in the organizing of the events, to the deejays, the bands, the squads, and especially the fans and supporters who travelled mad distances to join in with the festivities.
We're proud to have hosted a band that provided a soundtrack for our more youthful days and went on to inspire much of what we're about today. Unlike many bands that reform and 'do the circuit', The Oppressed knocked the audience out with a sound and performance that seriously rivalled performances of their heyday. Big ups to Roddy for strong-arming the entire lineup into the mix.
Respect due to The Prowlers who were prepared to act as backing band for The Oppressed had the other members not been present. In fact, they'll be doing just that in a few month's time when Roddy heads to Montreal and QC for a few one-off performances. The dates will be posted shortly! The Prowlers are just coming into their own. Is America ready for them?
We're proud to announce that this gig was successfully recorded and will be unleashed on the public later in the year in the form of a DVD. It was certainly a weekend to remember! We'll be posting photos in the online gallery very soon...
Preorders on both of the collector sets Insurgence released for the show have shipped. They hit shops everywhere on May 15 but you can get 'em here first. SKINHEAD TIMES - 1982~1998 contains all the material the Oppressed ever wrote. WON'T SAY SORRY - The Complete Cover Story contains all the cover songs the band ever recorded. 100 limited edition hand-screened and numbered collector sleeve sets were put together to commemorate the show and as the dust settled, we recovered a small quantity of them. These can be snapped up in the 'Package Deals' section of our online store while supplies last. The package consists of both CDs, a white vinyl version of the Insurgence EP, 3 pins, and a label t-shirt. Go get 'em.
Onward!
